Sjur Hamre

Thanks for stopping by! I'm a senior Economics and Political Science student at NYU Abu Dhabi — welcome to my humble home in the Cloud.

About Me

I originally hail from Leikanger, a tiny town close to the end of a long fjord in mid-western Norway.

In 2012, I moved to Bosnia-Herzegovina to attend United World College in Mostar.

Since I left high school in 2014, I've attended NYU Abu Dhabi, studying in Abu Dhabi, Washington, D.C., Shanghai, and New York.

My current research looks at the effects of import competition on voting behavior in Europe using econometric modelling.

When I'm not immersed in the social sciences, I enjoy building websites, interactive art, python games, data visualizations, productivity-enhancing scripts and other techie stuff. I also enjoy photography.

I mainly (re)tweet about politics, economics, public policy, and international relations. Feel free to follow me on Twitter!
