Sjur Hamre

Thanks for stopping by! I'm a junior studying Economics and Political Science at NYU Abu Dhabi — welcome to my tiny, humble home on the Internet.

About Me

I originally hail from Leikanger, a tiny, gorgeous town situated close to the end of a long fjord in mid-western Norway. In 2012, I moved to Mostar, Bosnia-Herzegovina to attend a United World College, which led me to apply to and later attend NYU Abu Dhabi. I've lived in Abu Dhabi since 2014, with the exception of a six-month residency in Washington, D.C. as a Global Leadership Scholar.

When not immersed in the social sciences, I write, take pictures, build websites, meet people, and/or run.

Projects

I sporadically build websites, including Mostar&Me, Muligheter, UWC.no, PHTT.org, and BIIAH.org. I've also built python games, tinkered with D3.js and other data visualization tools, and written a series of productivity-enhancing scripts.

Updates

I mainly (re)tweet about politics, economics, public policy, and international relations. Feel free to follow me!
